2021-7-22 · Evaporating sessile droplets interact with neighboring droplets via their vapor fields resulting in nonaxisymmetric evaporative fluxes from their surfaces. One of the consequences of this asymmetry is that unlike the uniform deposits left at the contact lines of isolated droplets the deposits left at the contact lines of droplets with neighbors are in general nonuniform.

2019-4-10 · An investigation shows how single shock waves produced in water jets by x-ray laser pulses propagate and become ultrasonic shock trains through oblique shock reflections and cavitation. These trains are one of the loudest sounds ever made in liquid water and may damage samples studied with x-ray lasers.

2020-1-29 · The world s largest free-floating soap bubbles can encompass a small automobile and span nearly 100 square meters despite being only microns thick. Experiments show that long polydisperse polymer chains provide extensional properties during bubble formation and reduce gravitational drainage at high concentrations. However too many polymers inhibit bubble formation leading to an ideal
